The University of Saint Mary was selected for the prestigious Steelcase Education Active Learning Center Grant.

Only 6 Higher Education Institutions were chosen as recipients.

(Leavenworth, Kan.)—The University of Saint Mary De Paul Library has been selected to receive the installation of an active learning classroom worth $62,000 through the Active Learning Center (ALC) program—a grant initiative funded by Steelcase Education. For two years, this program empowers educators across the country to implement active learning strategies by leveraging classroom space. from University of Saint Mary April 4th Newsletter. 

Steelcase: 

In the 2016 grant period, each Active Learning Center grant covers the furniture, integrated technology, design, installation and post-occupancy measurement tool for one of four classroom types designed for 24-32 students.

Eligible academic institutions are ones that focus primarily on formal, instructor-led learning in a designated classroom in the United States, Canada or Mexico, serving grades 6 – 12 or within a college or university.

Grants are valued at $62,000, plus all of the innovation and inspiration born of active learning.
