WFH: MINDFUL MOMENTS
To help maintain mental balance, team members at Scott Rice are sharing activities they practice and enjoy, a “Mindful Moment”. These activities can differ for each person, we all rejuvenate and recharge differently. Find what works best for you, set a goal to practice daily, and you’ll quickly be on your way to improved mental health.
Projects, deadlines, video conference calls (or happy hours), emails, kids activities, we are all inundated with task, after request, after demand, throughout our day. It’s overwhelming! These constant expectations are exhausting and can greatly affect our mental health. On average, our brains can absorb 120 bits per second. This is equivalent to trying to follow two people talking at the same time. We can all agree we are juggling more than just two conversations at once. It’s no wonder we find ourselves overextended, stressed and possibly agitated. Research shows that engaging in mindful moments, such as meditation, for 1 minute to 30 minutes a day can significantly reduce anxiety, increase mental resilience, increase focus and overall satisfaction with life.
Here are some thoughtful ideas that Scott Rice employee’s have been incorporating into their day to stay balanced while working from home! Based on survey results from SR Employees, we’ve found that over 60% of participants are engaging in some sort of activity related to mental wellness whether it be meditation, yoga, gardening, crafting or spending time outside!
