Tell us a little bit about yourself. Born and raised in Sabetha, KS – circa 1957 – small town in Northeast Kansas. Graduated from KSU in 1979 – dual major in Psychology and Education. Taught elementary school for three weeks in Shawnee Mission Schools; Got a job selling Xerox copiers in 1980; A ficticious “head-hunter” talked me into a sales position with Steelcase in 1985 and here we are. Selling Steelcase for 32 years; Got married to Kimberly in 1985; Frank and Molly joined the journey along the way. We enjoy Cocker Spaniels – Loki – he’s our third one. Patiently waiting for grandchildren.

What is your role at SR? Take a guess? “They are glass, they have doors, …” Please do not call them ‘demountables’. WG
Before working here, what was the most interesting job you held? Selling Xerox copiers; “cold call sales” – Am happy to tell you the stories – when you have time.
Hobbies/interests outside of work – Lawn work, landlording, reading, listening to BPM, “Aging Parents”…. Oh, almost forgot – KSU Football Games – September thru December – since 1989 – “It’s all about Family”

Hidden talents? – As you know – I hide nothing – “WYSIWYG”
Greatest achievement – Being a husband, father, son, uncle, cousin, friend – “It’s all about Family”
What is your most treasured possession? Many different family heirlooms – Not much on possessions of ‘things’
What did you want to be when you grew up? I was planning to drive a bulldozer and operate heavy equipment; I actually enrolled at Beloit Vo-Tech and my high school buddies decided we should all go to KSU and Aggieville. Of course, there is a story here too.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Mean people
What is one thing you couldn’t live without? My family, My KSU family and my SR work family.
