Last month, Scott Rice and Image Flooring teamed up with Antron, Atlas, Coalesse and Designtex and hosted a 2014 Color Trends and Gallery Expedition event for the Kansas City Design Community. Designers anticipate the announcement of the year’s hottest trends and color selections, using them as inspiration for their design work.

Each year Antron, a leading carpet fiber manufacture, compiles their own unique interpretation of each year’s color trends through world views, design direction and color innovation.  The 2014 palette is broken up into four color stories, Mysterious Illusions, Eccentric Icons, Magnified Cosmos and Playful Spectrum. We wanted to recreate each story through vignettes complied of different interior products.  Products used included Coalesse seating, Atlas carpet tiles, and Designtex textiles.

We felt so lucky to have hosted the event at the Haw Contemporary.

With art installations by Laura Berman and James Brinsfield as the backdrops, the Haw was the perfect venue.  Guests enjoyed complimentary cocktails and hors d’ouvres from Genessee Royale, while they viewed the vignettes and artwork.  They were also treated to a building tour and the “behind the scenes” areas of the gallery.  The event was such a success, we plan to host it again for 2015’s color trends!
