Be well. Stay well. Live well. Newly resurged phrases like these that are on the tips of everyone’s tongues as of late. But being well in an intentional way is not a new phenomenon. In fact, the Danish have an actual word for it. Hygge.
Pronounced “hoo-ga”, hygge has recently taken off in the United States and Europe and become a cultural phenomenon. The word hygge is defined as, “a quality of cosiness and comfortable conviviality that engenders a feeling of contentment or well-being.”
