Dr. Breithecker was born in 1953 and is a Health and Kinetics Scientist. He is the head of the “Federal Institute on the Development of Posture and Movement” in Germany. Since 1993 he has been a board member for the German “Society for Health-Promoting Schools”. Within this society he led the team promoting the “Active School”. Dr. Breithecker is an empirical partner of the European Union funded project, “Task Furniture in Education (TFE).” He has published several leading articles, booklets and video productions. He lectures internationally and brings not only years of scientific research to his audiences, but also a contagious joy for life that changes the way people think about the school environment and what is best for our children. As a recognized international expert Dr. Breithecker presents throughout Europe, Asia, Indonesia, North and South America, Australia and the Middle East. Some of his most recent topics are: ‘Ergonomics for Children”, “Bodies in Motion/Brains in Motion”, and “Beware of the Sitting Trap in Learning and Schooling”
