Hello Everyone!  I want to thank everyone at ScottRice for the warm welcome and all the help with getting me acquainted and settled.

To tell you a little about me… I grew up in Shawnee, but after attending K-State, I found I loved Manhattan so much that I decided to stay and make it home. I guess I just couldn’t get enough of that royal purple.  I’m an Interior Design grad, and I worked for a Steelcase dealership in Topeka, shortly after graduation.  Since then I’ve worked in facilities/display, insurance, I’ve rehabbed a couple houses, worked in residential design, and most recently was a museum educator at the KSU Beach Museum of Art.  My husband, Rusty, has recently changed from working in the hospitality business to selling farm machinery…one of his true passions… with better hours!  He also loves farming and playing drums.

We stay busy in our spare time tending to our “hobby farm” south of Wichita– no animals, crops only.  So harvest is a big time of year for us, and we couldn’t love it more!  I get the honor of driving the 1950s grain truck to the elevator—and what an adventure that can be! I also like hiking the Konza, yoga (haven’t tried goat yoga yet), and cooking, and I’m always looking for new experiences.

I have two grown kids, Andrew, age 21, and Katie, age 18… could those ages be any scarier?  Luckily, my son is pretty tame, and he’s is my techno/computer go-to guru. He enjoys building and flying drones, and vlogging.  My daughter, Katie, is quite the contrary… trying to grow up as fast as she can.  She’s acquired some pretty good skills in baton twirling and she’s headed to KU in the fall.  They both recently moved out on their own, suddenly leaving me an empty nester!

So here I am, taking on new adventures, and loving it!  I’m excited to be a part of the ScottRice team!  I’ve always enjoyed the study between people and their environment… a good design can inspire, increase efficiency, and simply make workers feel valued and happier… I absolutely love being a part of that process.  I’m really looking forward to getting to know all of you and working on many projects together!  See you in KC!
