In November, Lauren Lawton and I had the opportunity to join our marketing friends at Steelcase and other dealerships around the country in San Diego, CA for a Marketing Community of Practice.

The Marketing Community of Practice is a group that shares and collaborates on best marketing practices around launch and communication to customers and design community. We meet about 3 Times a year. This time we met at the Steelcase Dealership BKM.

The event started on a Sunday evening with a story telling workshop with The Second City of Hollywood. We focused on how important it is to listen and how to customize your story based on who you are talking to.

On Monday morning we were up bright and early ready to continue our workshops at BKM. We kicked off the morning with an intro to BKM followed by a tour lead by CEO Bill Kuhnert. The space had recently been redone in May so they were very excited to show it off. Here are a few photos from the tour.

After the tour we spent the day learning and sharing best practices as well as Steelcase updates and presenting dealer shares.

After a full day of sharing, learning and teaching we had a nice dinner on the coast and finally went to bed. We got up even earlier on Tuesday day to finish our workshop in order to get to the airport by noon.

Over all Lauren and I had a fabulous time and hope we can implement some of the new ideas we got at the Marketing Cop.
